Senior Bar Person

We are currently seeking to hire an experienced Senior Bar Person to work weddings, work is part time and seasonal.  You will be required to work in conjunction with the owners and be responsible for ensuring that the sourcing, ordering and stocking of the bar is fulfilled efficiently and effectively and controlling the serving of all beverages in the bar area, whilst maintaining the highest standards of service.

Job Description:

  • Ensuring that all stock levels are maintained (without overstocking) and there is enough stock present at all times.

  • Responsible for ordering stock and liaising with company stock controller.

  • Ensuring all relevant checklists are recorded and stock is ordered as required.

  • Ensuring that all staff record wastage in Wastage Book.

  • Ensuring that staff are motivated to provide excellent customer care and assist in providing training for the same as and when required.

  • Ensuring that staff has an excellent knowledge of wines & cocktails.

  • Ensuring staff quickly assess guests’ needs and obtain information if they can’t answer questions and that staff are courteous and helpful to customers.

  • Accept customer payment, process credit card charges and make change (if required).

  • Full responsibility for preparing the Bar for weddings/functions.

  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.

  • Supervision of bar staff at all times.

  • Liaising with front of house staff/wedding coordinator on event days.

  • Ensuring all cashiering policies and procedures are followed at all times and ensuring that staff are aware that cash discrepancies are neither accepted nor tolerated.

Ideal candidate has:-

  • 3 years plus experience working a busy bar

  • Fluent English and excellent interpersonal skills

  • Accuracy and professionalism

  • Being observant and practical  

  • Communication and listening  

  • Discretion and honesty  

  • Flexibility and diplomacy

  • Ability to handle intoxicated guests

  • Memorisation and handling money

  • Organisation and preparation

Garden Assistant

We are currently seeking to hire a Garden Assistant to work onsite during the summer months. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in a full time summer position.  Some previous experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

Duties include:

  • Assisting in general gardening duties and grounds maintenance under the direction of Head Gardener. Aspects of which include; mowing, strimming, weeding, sowing, planting, pruning, watering and hedge-cutting.
  • Assisting in the production and harvesting of a range of vegetables in the garden for use in the kitchen.
